Kforce's client, a growing and established company in the Phoenix, Arizona (AZ) area is looking for an Automation Manufacturing Technical Services Manager. We are looking for candidates nationwide, willing to relocate to the Phoenix, Arizona (AZ) area. Once again, the position in in Phoenix, Arizona (AZ). Summary: This position assumes a technical leadership role and customer interface role in support of automated manufacturing systems for the company. Duties:

  • Responsible for service and spares quoting and execution
  • Determining warranty vs. service as well as troubleshooting and diagnosis of equipment issues
  • Works independently on issues that may be complex in nature where judgment is required in resolving problems and making routine recommendations
  • Works closely with Software Engineers, Mechanical Design Engineers, Project Managers, Electricians and Machine Builders to achieve customer satisfaction through effective technical solutions satisfying customer requirements while building strong relationships

Specific Duties Include:

  • Work with Customers, Project Managers, Engineers, Machine Builders, and Technicians to solve problems in order to provide the Customer with a good experience and solution
  • Be an ambassador for the company at the customer's site, providing a quick and efficient repair of the equipment
  • Develops and maintains highest customer satisfaction results and establishes partnerships
  • Provide superior customer service to all internal and external customers; Provide customer training when required
  • Remotely troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve service issues; Visit customer site when required
  • Use hand tools to perform setup and alignment of the system and sub-assemblies
  • Repair and/or replace defective components of the system as required


  • Technical school certificate or AS in Electrical Engineering, Industrial automation, Manufacturing or similar field or equivalent experience specializing in controls systems design
  • 5+ years of experience within the industrial automation industry
  • Thorough understanding and interest in robotics, control systems, and machine operation
  • Familiar with hardware components such as motors, grippers, load cells, sensors and lasers
  • Ability to connect via software with such components as VFD's, HMI's, motion controllers, vision systems and robots
  • Successful experiencetroubleshooting complex equipment
  • Experience and demonstrable success working with automation equipment utilizing effective troubleshooting and repair of systems to minimize down time
  • Proven leadership qualities including; good oral and written communication skills, ability to work withinternal team as well as customers, and a willingness to take responsibility for key aspects needed for job completion
  • Hands-on experience in programming and troubleshooting with current PLC hardware, and programming software; ability to understand and troubleshoot systems and processes
  • Must exhibit professional and courteous communication and interaction under pressure with customers, vendors, engineers, technicians, machinists, and other team members
  • Applicants must be fully authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
  • Proven experience reading electrical schematics and making redlines when required
  • High speed assembly experiencepreferred (cycle times of 5 to 3 seconds)
  • Must be able to travel domestic and international up to 75% of the time
