Position Summary

This position will be a member of a highly creative, inventive, and versatile engineering staff. This position, with minimal supervision, will provide technical leadership of and input to multidisciplinary project teams in conceptualizing, design, development, and improving high speed automated manufacturing of leading Brands of Feminine Care consumer products.


•Collaborates with Global RD&E and supports Manufacturing Operations to ensure uninterrupted Supply Chain
•Provides creative concepts and implementable solutions that resolve difficult or chronic manufacturing problems to yield product cost and/or quality improvements while maintaining product design requirements
•Effectively seeks out, develops, or applies state-of-the-art scientific/technical knowledge to current capabilities for maintaining or advancing competitive advantage
•Facilitates New Product Development by conducting research and developing cost effective manufacturability of new products and processes. Scope would be inclusive of hands-on concept proofing thru virtual modeling, prototyping, pilot lines and the like. Culmination would be proven development and validation of final designs for equipment/line upgrades, capacity initiatives, process modifications, RM cost improvements, or incremental/new product capability
•Plans, develops, and submits project budget and cost estimates, project resource requirements, implementation plans, Capital Appropriation Requests for execution of engineering solutions
•Supports other Edgewell Personal Care functions and locations as required by business initiatives and resource demands

Required Skills and Experience

•Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent Engineering discipline)
•Minimum of 5 years of experience in closely related industry to FDA Class I/II consumer goods high speed & high volume manufacturing and packaging operations
•Results oriented individual with a strong, proven mechanical aptitude, unafraid of utilizing a hands-on approach when needed to lead and deliver creative solutions of problems ranging from simple to complex
•Ability to work as either as an individual contributor or a cross-functional team leader to drive change and manage risk
•Proven skills in application of structured problem resolution methodologies for analysis of process data, information, and interdependencies. Examples include tools of Design/Process Excellence, Six Sigma, Statistical Process Control, Failure Mode Effects Analysis, Mistake Proofing, and similar applications
•Experience in seeking out and working with OEM’s, outside suppliers, contractors, and industry consultants to tap into and apply specialized engineering expertise and relevant technologies
•Versatile mechanical aptitude for rapid development of expertise in multiple equipment types and platform technologies
•Effective technical, business, and interpersonal communication skills
•Robust proficiency in CAD & 3D CAD technologies (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent), MS Project, and MS Office (Word, Excel, & PowerPoint)

Working Relationships & Environment

•Reports to Sr. Engineering Manager in Global Automation Group. Key internal relationships includes functional colleagues in RD&E, Manufacturing Operations, Quality, Facilities Engineering, Maintenance, and Planning/Scheduling
•Some travel may be required
•No extraordinary physical requirements
•Work schedule typically day shift with periodic variations as required for execution of projects or resolution of atypical manufacturing problems
•Requires use of Personal Protective Equipment in designated areas of cGMP manufacturing facility
