  • What you will do:

    • Program and maintain PLC & HMI software, including modification and customization.
    • Lead or support control and drive systems troubleshooting.
    • Recommend, design and implement upgrades for obsolete equipment.
    • Manage all work tasks of the Automation Engineering group, assign work tasks for staff members.
    • Support training programs development and training of all automation and electrical staff.
    • Support automation and electrical spare parts inventory development to minimize lost production time and inventory costs.
    • Maintain appropriate documentation related to equipment maintenance, processes, performance, etc., analyses as appropriate to determine best practices.
    • Coordinate material and services sourcing for engineering projects including quotation requests and purchase requisitions creation.
    • Coordinate efficient delivery of maintenance services by outside vendors, as appropriate.
    • Work closely with Automation Development Engineer and Process Engineers.

    Who you are:

    • You have any combination of education and experience equivalent to BS in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechatronics Engineering, and 5 – 10 years responsible AE / EE / ME experience, preferably in the paper or converting industry.
    • You possess knowledge of National Electric Code and relevant OSHA requirements.
    • You must have good understanding of PLC & HMI systems, and ability to create PLC & HMI program code and program documentation.
    • You should have good practical experience in PLC Systems (preferably Siemens S7 and/or TIA portal) for process or material handling work and experience working with PLC communications using Ethernet, Profibus, Profinet, AS-i bus etc.
    • You should have good practical experience and knowledge of operator interface systems (Wonderware InTouch, Siemens WinCC Flexible), and electrical hardware planning work done by AutoCad tools.
    • You should have good practical experience and knowledge of drives systems (ABB, Siemens or similar).
