Job DescriptionThe QA Automation Engineer, Principal is a gifted automation leader across Sage and is able to inspire Sage groups to break new ground, overcome challenges, and reach new levels of automation achievement. The QA Automation Engineer, Principal is an expert with the automation technologies and processes and can analyze, plan, coordinate, and drive multiple complex automation initiatives, projects, and systems to meet automation deliverables. This individual is expected to extend significant technology and processes depth across organizational lines that can extend the reach of automation with the goal of reducing/redirecting manual testing costs across Sage while increasing quality standards. Key ResponsibilitiesEssential Functions:
• Lead in the analysis, design, development, and ongoing maintenance of complex automated tests and automation architecture performed against the application(s) under test within the confines of established automation development processes, aligning with Sage current and future marketplace needs
• Lead automation architectural plan, scope, schedule and implementation of test and project level architecture within the automation framework
• Help to define automation architectural objectives, strategies, processes, standards, and metrics
• Drive research and discovery for opportunity or improvement within automation architecture, pushing even better practices than may be standard in the industry
• Support the team interaction of QA testers providing insight into how automation appropriately applies
• Facilitate technical input and growth opportunities for further automation and/or architectural improvement
• Design architectural concepts for the development, execution, analysis, and presentation of performance/benchmark, load, and scalability testing based on product requirements
• Communicate both internally and externally with cross functional areas impacted by automation, including the effective dealings with related functions like Sales and Marketing
• Provide input to other schedules and make tradeoffs across projects and release
• Apply, develop, and enhance tools to meet needs of the program. When new tools are required, search and acquire new tools
• Protect company proprietary and confidential information
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Software Engineering, or Computer Science or equivalent experience required
• 8+ years of experience
• 4+ years of experience with Automation Architectures
• Expert knowledge of software development and product testing within an SDLC process
• Expert in automated testing tools, architecture/frameworks, techniques, coding languages, and methodologies
• Experience in coordinating architectural efforts across automation projects using reliable and maintainable processes
• Experience with providing creative solutions to group problems regarding existing architecture, projects, and methodologies
• Ability to drive multiple schedules and achieve multiple task deliverables across SageAbility to make appropriate decisions regarding changes to project level code design
• Ability to drive change within the organization by creating new technologies and/or solutions that may be new to the industry, while balancing the organization's need for stability and change. Works to avoid the perception that changes are random
• Ability to create system level designs for multiple automation projects and architectures across Sage
• Ability to promote, execute, and exemplify automation processes and methodologies in order to maximize output and solve new classes of problems using broad knowledge of technologies available
• Ability to create alignment broadly across the organization and empowers others to make decisions, while building and managing broad participation in the decision process
