Pacira Pharmaceuticals currently has an opening for an Automation Engineer II.

The purpose of the position is to support the development and maintenance of control systems and automated processes for Commercial Operations.

  • Optimize and/or maintain the control systems governing cGMP processes by assessing current process equipment and utilities and recommending automation changes.
  • Provide technical support to Process Engineering, Manufacturing, Validation, and Facilities during implementation of new processes and validation efforts.
  • Participate in the execution of Factory Acceptance Tests, Site Acceptance Tests, and Commissioning of new control systems.
  • Provide direction to sub-contractors and vendors in the design of control system software and hardware.
  • Generate and revise control system documentation.
  • Assist in the development of Automation Standards.
  • Prepare change requests as required.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Experience

  • BS Degree in Electrical/ Mechanical/ Chemical Engineering or equivalent experience.

  • Experience in GMP required.

  • Working knowledge of P&IDs, electrical drawings, control panel layout, network system architecture, databaseconstruction, and PLC programming is required.

  • Working knowledge of instrumentation and controls as well as ISA standards.

  • Experience in generation of controlled documents such as Functional Requirements Specifications and Software Design Specifications is preferred.

  • Experience with cGMP equipment and processes.

  • Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities with a high degree of self-motivation.

  • Good observation skills and problem solving ability.

  • Effective presentation skills.
