FTS is seeking experienced candidates for several Automated Control Systems Engineer positions to primarily support the Emerson DeltaV distributed control system, with positions available for both lifecycle and maintenance services as well as control system project execution. Client is an Emerson Impact Partner, supporting industrial control systems throughout Louisiana, lower Mississippi and Alabama, through the panhandle of Florida. As the formal Emerson sales and service channel for the south-central United States area, client is formally trained and factory certified to support Emerson industrial control systems.
This position primarily supports the installation, maintenance and/or engineering and programming of Emerson Process Management Distributed Control Systems (DCS), various Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systems, and related industrial process instrumentation. DCS Systems include DeltaV, PRoVOX, RS3 and related AMS software. Programmable Logic Controllers include primarily AllenBradley and Modicon. Flow Computers include ROC and Bristol.
This position requires the individual to perform and lead the design, development, implementation, testing, startup and tuning of process control system automation projects. This involves knowledge of process control concepts, strong programming acumen and organizational tendencies with attention to detail. This position requires a technical acumen, ability for critical analysis and attention to detail with an emphasis on strong computer skills.
The position requires driving to the customer industrial sites on a regular basis. Individuals must be capable of, and diligent about, compliance with safety rules and regulations in these environments. Attention to detail and awareness of potential safety hazards is expected at all times. Maturity and sound judgment are essential to working in this environment.
Typical position activities include:
Consultative discussions with customers, principals, and internal colleagues on best practices and solutions to achieve expectations from both internal and customer perspectives.
Control System installation, maintenance, emergency support.
Control Strategy Design for Basic Process Control and Safety Instrumented Systems.
Control System Programming, Logic Testing and Simulation, Customer Factory Acceptance Testing.
Onsite Customer Site Acceptance Testing and Training, and Process Startup Support.
