The successful Automation Application Engineer IV will have the following Key Accountabilities:

  • Perform Automation Application Assessments
  • Review customer specifications
  • Perform application site visits to verify specifications, operations, material movement, throughput, load attributes, vehicle interfaces, etc
  • Perform interviews with operators, service techs, supervisors, managers, plant managers, procurement and senior management as needed
  • Support simulation/emulation as needed to support customer process improvement initiatives
  • Define the Right Truck for the application
  • Analyze data collected during the site assessment visits and summarize
  • Identify the optimum Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) solutions for the application, including vehicle type, system management, energy type and recharging, telemetry, fleet management and service
  • Confirm required quantity of AGVs
  • Investigate and specify third party equipment and services required to meet system requirements
  • Prepare Request For Quote (RFQ) for third party equipment and services
  • Draft AGV proposal, including description of operation, pricing and perform technical review for sufficiency and correctness
  • Provide customer Return on Investment (ROI) assessment for the project(s)
  • Present AGV proposal to customer and respond to technical questions 
  • Automation Application Guides Industry Strategies
  • Draft Executive Summary and Industry Overview
  • Recommend truck options with reasons
  • Perform content review with Engineering, Marketing, Sales and Legal
  • Guides include industry information, application attributes and overview, problems, solutions and rationale, competitive selling points, links and glossary
  • Project Supervision and Management
  • Act as HYG representative during site AGV installation
  • Provide support to insure that project activities are completed in an accurate timely manner
  • Evaluate technical risk of the project(s)
  • Recommend and implement product and process improvement

The successful Automation Application Engineer IV will have the following Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS Degree in Engineering required
  • Minimum 5+ year’s industry experience required
  • years of relevant Project Management experience required
  • years’ experience in the robotic or AGV industry preferred
  • years’ experience in front or end users or project leadership preferred
  • years of CAD or equivalent experience preferred
  • years of travel experience covering project management preferred
