Kwik Trip, Inc. is looking for an experienced Automation and Controls Engineering Support Specialist to support our modern food, beverage, and dairy manufacturing operations located at our La Crosse campus.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Program, troubleshoot and maintain automated systems and equipment in support of process manufacturing, batching, and packaging.
  • Candidates should have experience working with Allen-Bradley PLC's, VFD's, HMI's and supporting control devices, along with an industrial electronics and instrumentation background.

Regular tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Troubleshoot a variety of automated systems supporting many different process control environments
  • Perform upgrades and maintenance on industrial controls and instrumentation
  • Communicate with operators and management teams; ensure day to day productivity and operational efficiencies are achieved; provide emergency support as required; coordinate with vendors for necessary support and/or repairs.

Qualifications: This job supports a highly automated industrial setting requiring a minimum of two years of automation experience and/or training. Candidates should have strong troubleshooting skills; the ability to work well alone and as part of a team; strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills; be accurate and detail oriented; exhibit a willingness to learn and perform a variety of job tasks; ability to prioritize, delegate, and manage multiple projects; be able to support and meet departmental and production deadlines; good problem solving skills; ability to read, understand and interpret schematics and manuals; good working knowledge of Rockwell software to include RSLogix 500, RSLogix 5000, FTView ME & SE, and RSLinx; and a basic understanding of common industrial protocols including Ethernet IP. All candidates must be able to work safely and meet all food safety and regulatory standards.

Physical qualifications: stand/walk for up to 10 hours per shift; bend/reach/twist and stoop/kneel/crouch frequently; lift/carry 50 pounds frequently; lift/carry up to 80 pounds occasionally.

Candidates must live within 30 minutes of our La Crosse campus.

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, working during the day with occasional weekend work as required. On-call scheduling may be required.
