The Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at UConn Health is seeking a candidate at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank for a position available July 2018. This is an excellent opportunity for a recently trained physician who is seeking a position that combines both academic and clinical care. The candidate’s responsibilities will involve clinical care of patients as a Perinatologist in the UConn Maternal-Fetal Medicine Associates of the UConn Medical Group, the faculty practice plan of the School of Medicine and research, depending on the availability of research funding.
Patient care will be provided at one or more affiliated locations designated for the UConn MFM Associates. Inpatient and outpatient services will also be provided at the University’s John Dempsey Hospital. The department chair will determine assignments. The candidate must be able to provide a broad range of Maternal Fetal Medicine services, including obstetrical ultrasound, with proficiency in performing fetal echocardiography. Experience with diagnostic procedures such as amniocentesis is necessary. Experience with CVS, fetal blood sampling and intra-uterine fetal transfusion is desirable.
As part of the School of Medicine faculty responsibility the candidate will actively participate in training and supervising Maternal-Fetal Medicine fellows, Ob/Gyn residents, and medical students. The department chairman will assign other responsibilities (e.g. community outreach, lectures, committee membership) as needed to meet the mission of the needs of the department and medical school. Compensation is commensurate with training, experience and abilities.
