The Assistant Nurse Manager for Patient Flow and Experience will assist the Director of Clinical Operations for the Emergency Department in the overall administrative direction for the clinical practice of nursing and the delivery of high quality, cost effective care to all patients utilizing the services of the Emergency Department. This position will focus on the Patient Flow and Patient Experience.

Work in the only Level One Trauma Center between Baltimore and Philadelphia.
In collaboration with the ED Director of Clinical Operations, this position directly supervises all nursing and technical personnel to design and implement select flow processes in the department to increase the efficiency of work processes and overall patient experience. This includes Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Nursing Professional Development Specialists, Emergency Care Technicians, ED Clerical Supervisors, ED Clerks and Service Assistants.
Work with an interdisciplinary team to create, implement and evaluate processes and performance improvement plans that will impact patient throughput and experience in the emergency department.
Assess competency of staff, oversee daily staffing and scheduling needs of the department; evaluate staff performance, and counsel staff members when performance issues are identified.
Participate, as necessary, in hiring, promotion, salary adjustment, and termination decisions for emergency care technicians.
Function as a highly visible role model, demonstrating quality expertise and professional behaviors which support professional development of staff and the strategic goals of CCHS. Identify and develop strategies to improve the overall knowledge base and professionalism of staff.
Direct, mentor and support all level of staff of the Emergency Department.
Analyze administrative and operational functions; implement appropriate changes and system wide improvements.
Participate in preparation of annual capital and operating budget.
Support the Emergency department leadership team in organizing and prioritizing capital needs.
Identify new program and service opportunities for the department and or emergency services.
Develop and maintain methods to ensure patient, employee and physician satisfaction.
Hours: This is an Exempt position, requiring the ability to work with staff on all shifts. Weekends will be required as necessary for project work. This position does not require holidays.
