Functional Title: Associate Vice President for Clinical Operations for Academic Health Sciences Center (AHSC) and Chief Clinical Operations Officer (CCOO) for Academic Health Sciences Center and UCF Health.

Responsible for clinical and business operations for UCF Health and evolving AHSC clinical services.

Develop and implement plan for financial and operational turnaround and strategic growth
for UCF Health to establish efficient and financially sound operations, working together with Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs (ADCA) and with the AHSC Associate Vice President for Finance and Administration.

Develop and implement compensation model for clinical practitioners in collaboration with ADCAsupportive of UCF Health mission and culture.

Develop, implement and monitor key operating policies and procedures. Ensure proper interpretation and administration of federal and state laws and regulations, as well as UCF regulations, policies, and procedures.

Work closely with other AHSC and COM leadership on the development and
implementation of the AHSC and COM strategic and clinical operational plans and
supports VP and Dean on performance strategies and targets.

Oversee strategic business and operational planning for UCF Health including new
services, new sites, ancillary services; responsibility for ensuring that UCF Health
operations are managed to budget; monitor performance against goals and benchmarks.

Partners with Chief Financial Officer for AHSC on payor strategy and oversight of payor contacting.

Supports compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

Assist in developing responses and assuring compliance with external and internal audits
and monitoring of expenditures in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies, and national accreditation standards.

Develop, implement and monitor financially sound business models including detailed proformas for all clinical activities of UCF Health and AHSC.

Works with UCF Health Leadership Council to establish short-term and long-term strategic, financial and operational goals and implementation plans for UCF Health.

Works with AHSC Executive team on strategic and business planning and operations for all aspects of evolving clinical enterprise.

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and seven years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and nine years of appropriate experience.

Additional Minimum Requirements

Strong clinical operational expertise; more than 10 years managing operations of health care services in health system or large multi-specialty practice with enterprise-level accountability for operational and financial performance.

Strong background in and current knowledge of the healthcare industry.

Experience in both academic and private healthcare organizations.

Practical knowledge of current and evolving health care business, operational and reimbursement models and joint ventures.

Demonstrated ability to think strategically in health care business and execute on development of new partnerships, initiatives and services.

Leadership experience in achieving financial turnaround in a health care delivery setting.

Experience in developing and successfully executing plans for ancillary services.

Innovative, demonstrated leadership skills, collaborative, entrepreneurial.

High level of congeniality in working with diverse teams in a matrixed environment.

A Master’s degree in business, health administration or equivalent.
