Responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. Assist project teams with technical and security related issues in the initiation and planning phases of division internal and external projects. These activities include the definition of needs, benefits, and technical strategy; research & development within the project life-cycle; technical analysis and design; and support of division and project staff in executing, testing and rolling-out the solutions. Responsible for Linux and Windows systems, networks, and infrastructure that support the division operations and satisfy customer contract requirements. This work will also include administering software development tools such as AccuRev source code repository, TeamCity software build environment, Centrify, NESSUS, SPLUNK Carbon Black, and other division tools used to accomplish the division’s work. Activities will include work at SwRI laboratories and short-term travel to government facilities / military bases or other customer facilities, both in the U.S. and overseas, for system installations and to provide technical support. Applicant will also prepare technical documents; as well as, support proposal preparations as required.
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent with 5- 10 years experience. Prefer AA degree in Computer Science with at least a 3.3 GPA. Must have demonstrated capabilities in systems administration and information systems security for planning, implementation and support of contract requirements; must have a working knowledge in the application of the NIST 800-53 and NIST 800-171 as it related to Linux based computer systems, network security and auditing; must have the ability to participate in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the division’s computing and network infrastructure as well as, ensuring that system hardware, operating systems, software applications, and related procedures adhere to Government, Contract, and organizational policy, regulations and values; knowledge of system administration and security application in Linux and Windows is required; experience in various scripting languages related to operating system administration is highly desirable; familiarity with aspects of software development / build environments and database management system administration is also desired; excellent technically oriented verbal and written communications skills are required. Current DoD security clearance is highly desired. A valid/clear driver's license is required.
