Support the Sr. Channel lead of Email Marketing to define and drive the Email Marketing channel strategy for Grainger – with the goal of maximizing key business metrics across the customer purchase and retention cycle
Co-lead efforts to identify, test, and grow new opportunities in Email Marketing.
Coordinate with internal business partners and external vendors to manage day-to-day performance and communication.
Develop customer-centric email strategies based on data driven customer needs, company goals, and analytics
Lead collaboration with digital marketing, content and design teams to conceptualize and build email executions that will both fulfill customer need and advance business and marketing, and email objectives
Oversee delivery of email campaign strategy, production and execution, including KPI identification, segmentation, automation and reporting.
Deliver email strategy across multiple projects and campaigns, in alignment with broader marketing and business strategy.
Represent and actualize Email Marketing strategy with a variety of business partners, departments, and external partners.
Support Sr. Email Channel Lead in execution of email goals and objectives.
Support Sr. Channel Lead with recruitment, training and development / retention of top talent to support channel expansion, enhanced optimization / analytics and transition to in-house self-managed platform.
Responsible for managing budget to actual spend plan for email program. Ensure accurate and timely invoice completion.
Assist Channel Lead in management of external vendor relationships. Conduct on-going audits / pilots with new vendors and solutions / technologies to optimize email investments. Work closely with other channel managers to leverage synergies and drive maximum online and offline impact
Remain current on industry trends, new offerings and interactive technologies with emphasis on email personalization and incorporate recommendations into ongoing strategy development.
Strong ability to understand and articulate critical performance and reporting metrics for email program. Develop strategic recommendations based on insights.
Lead execution of ongoing incremental testing and optimization testing (e.g. content, SLs, multivariate, etc.)
Innovate around emerging digital opportunities, including staying on top of the newest ad tech companies, and working with digital and data techniques like cookie pooling, hashed email, among others.
Partner with marketing channels to further integrate customer marketing experience and optimization based on results.
Bachelors in Marketing or related disciplines and experience.
5+ years of experience in high volume email marketing, preferably some B2B, using a top tier ESP (e.g. Epsilon, Responsys, or Salesforce/Exact Target)
Strong experience in leading multi-faceted projects, responsible for overall project outcome.
Strong quantitative and analytical skills – ability to quantify and execute data-driven outcomes
Experience in creating multi and cross-channel campaigns – having helped companies/brands evolve into integrated marketing programs – with focus on online engagement.
Able to exhibit strong collaborative team-work skills, including leading projects teams in a constructive environment.
Ability to influence toward productive outcomes without having formal authority over partners and team members.
Strong industry knowledge – newest trends, new technologies, customized email experience
Experience in Marketing Strategy/ cross channel brand awareness efforts
Excellent creative, client services, and communication skills and ability to present to various teams with different levels of online exposure
Proven ability to work successfully with cross-functional teams & brands, handling multiple projects and meeting tight deadlines
Knowledge of email marketing trends, concepts and practices
Passion for customer-centric email marketing, customer segmentation and lifecycle targeting. Cross channel marketing.
Strong understanding of email and CRM best practices, i.e. CAN-SPAM laws, content creation, list management and targeting, knowledge of dynamic content and campaign automation
Ability to lead multiple projects and continuously prioritize in a fast-paced, results oriented environment
Proactive, can-do approach to problem-solving
Team Lead/People management experience is a plus.
