Overview

This position entails providing legal advice related to Oculus’s products, coretechnology development and negotiating complextechnology transactions. Success in this position will requireapplying a complex and evolving global legal and licensing framework to new and innovative products and services. This is a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge issues in a fast-paced start-up environment, as Oculus leads the field of virtual reality.

Responsibilities:

  • Counsel Oculus’s product and core technology teams on legal matters related to Oculus PC and mobile hardware and software products, including product design and development
  • Serve as legal lead for strategic collaborations and partnerships with othertechnology companies to build out the Oculus product ecosystem
  • Oversee and negotiate complex tech transactions, including IP licensing, partnership agreements and other commercial agreements related to Oculus products and core technologies
  • Influence and build relationships with executives, product teams and peers across Oculus and Facebook
  • Collaborate with subject matters experts at Oculus and Facebook to analyze and communicate legal risks

Minimum Qualifications:

  • J.D. degree with membership in at least 1 state bar
  • 8+ years legal experience with law firms and/or in-house experience with technology companies
  • Product counseling and negotiating experience
  • Experience in IP and technology licensing
  • Experience with the consumer electronics industry and emerging technology products and services

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience building influence with tech entrepreneur executives and advising various stakeholders teams on complex legal issues
  • International transactions experience
