The Associate Network Engineer will be responsible for expert installation, operation, and support of systems hardware, software, and services related infrastructure; will be focused on tasks including installation, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining enterprise data communications infrastructure; must be able to manage urgent and complex issues by setting customer expectations, devising and implementing action plans, being available as required and professionally communicating to all parties involved; will exhibit exceptional oral and written communication skills necessary to communicate (technically and non-technically) with other team members; other technology services staff, customers, vendors, partners and leadership; will ensure successful and cooperative completion of tasks and projects and to resolve problems in a timely manner; will demonstrate ability to resolve problems effectively & efficiently required to ensure minimal disruptions & unplanned downtimes of assigned systems; will use established standards (or under the direction of an Architect), manage data communications infrastructure including switches, routers, firewalls, power equipment, and supporting infrastructure; and will serve as group contact after hours as part of an on-call rotation.
The ideal candidate will preferably have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience; 2 or more Cisco or equivalent network certifications; 6+ years minimum experience in an enterprise networking environment with both installation and problem resolution of enterprise Cisco or multivendor equipment required; experience with enterprise wireless systems; and have the ability to coordinate others in the support of systems.
4+ years minimum experience in an enterprise networking environment with both installation and problem resolution of enterprise Cisco equipment required; 2 years minimum working hands on with enterprise ticketing systems, network monitoring tools, and packet capture tools; excellent knowledge of TCP/IP and other protocols including OSPF, EIGRP, spanning tree, DNS, DHCP, and firewall policies; MUST have strong, demonstrable skills in following and appropriately applying established policies and procedures.
