bluebird bio, a pioneer in lentiviral vector-based gene therapies and cellular immunotherapies, is seeking a dynamic, versatile professional to join its growing Medical Affairs team. At bluebird we are committed to using cutting-edge science to make a real difference for patients with serious rare and genetic diseases. bluebird is conducting clinical studies with an autologous hematopoietic stem cell gene therapy, LentiGlobin, for severe sickle cell disease (SCD). SCD is a progressively debilitating genetic disease resulting in acute and chronic complications that lead to significant morbidity and early mortality, and gene therapy has the potential to offer a transformative new option to patients with SCD. The LentiGlobin clinical programs are preparing for commercialization and the Associate Director, Scientific Communications, SCD will play a critical role in helping the medical community understand the unmet need in SCD and the potential role of gene therapy for SCD.
