Summary of This Role

Manages the development, implementation, and enforcement of the compliance program as well as planning, directing, and administering risk management and loss prevention programs related to operating risk, insurance, and any class of financial risk. This may include establishing risk tolerance guidelines and policies and ensuring the risk exposure of the organization is within these guidelines. Ensures maximum protection of the organization's assets.  Conducts periodic audits to assess compliance levels. Develops processes for effective and efficient reporting and data analysis to minimize risk exposure. Consults on an ongoing basis on related issues with managers and executives. Ensures conformance with applicable laws and regulations and ensures regular training is conducted on compliance issues.

What Part Will You Play?

Responsible for the implementation and oversight of regulatory and compliance related activities within TSYS. Monitor and manage compliance risks associated with products and services, including risk identification, assessment and management of the control environment and ongoing monitoring of key risk and performance indicators. This position ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations, staying abreast of the regulatory risk environment for the identification of emerging risks and new or developing regulations. Provides timely, relevant and effective communications to stakeholders at all levels. Provides communications to clients with specific information through presentations, emails and phone conversations. Responsible for developing and implementing compliance policies and procedures, directing the activities of a team of compliance professionals and assisting with reporting and metrics. Assumes ownership for enterprise programs which promote risk management. Accountable for the development and reporting of compliance monitoring activities. Promotes a positive risk and compliance culture across the enterprise through training, broadcast messages, journals, blogs, and Compliance Committee programs.

What Are We Looking For in This Role?

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Relevant Experience or Degree in: related field of study from an accredited university is preferred. Relevant experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.
  • Typically a minimum of 8 years
  • related professional experience including a minimum of 3-4 years experience in a supervisory position.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent research skills

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge and understanding of the regulatory environment and Financial Regulations, particularly Unsecured Credit

Excellent knowledge of the Financial Services regulatory framework

Risk based critical thinking skills and curiosity. Strong independent follow-up skills

Knowledge of TSYS is an asset
