Position Summary

Alkermes is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support our medical affairs organization. This person will provide overall department and portfolio program management support to the Medical Affairs leadership team and organization fostering proactive cross-functional integration, ensuring clear and open communication and fostering integration with the broader development organization.  In addition, this person will also support as needed integration for the clinical development leadership team.   


Key areas of responsibility will include:

  • Facilitate integration and development of medical affairs strategic and tactical plans across our portfolio, coordinating across all medical affairs areas (i.e. operations, field teams, scientific communications, medical information, HEOR and knowledge management services)

  • Support the medical affairs leadership team with areas such as resource planning, tracking and analyzing medical affairs consolidated timelines and budgets to ensure there is strategic focus and seamless execution of deliverables 

    • This includes creation of timelines/budgets, monitoring execution and assisting in cross-functional communication within the organization

  • Identify opportunities for enhanced &/or new systems/tools/processes; support/lead implementation and maintenance as required

  • Support as needed integration for the clinical development leadership team


We’re looking for an individual who excels in a matrixed-management/leadership environment, is organizationally savvy, has strong communication skills and enjoys working on the details without losing site of the larger organizational goals.


Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:

  • BS/MS in a scientific discipline, with 10+ years of relevant medical affairs and/or clinical development experience

  • Prior experience managing cross-functional teams with timeline management and budgetary responsibility

  • Expert knowledge of MS Project and MS Excel

  • Exceptional verbal/written communication, time/resource management, attention to detail, interpersonal and organization skills
