WuXi AppTec Inc. is looking for an Associate Director or Director to manage multiple Project Management Teams in their Biologics Testing Programs. Come work in our state of the art Laboratory facility in Philadelphia.


The Associate Director will manage the Project Management Team responsible for oversight of the Biologics Testing Programs. Responsibilities will include development and implementation of processes to support WuXi AppTec’s growing Advanced and Non Advanced Testing platforms. This person will manage the day to day operations of the Project Management team, lead the efforts with the team to develop and maintain project plans and timelines, communications of project status to clients, project stakeholders, and management. Responsible for the overall delivery of testing programs by the Project Management group. Works cross-functionally across Operations, Business Development, and across multiple WuXi AppTec sites. Supports Strategic Account Management through Key Business Review meetings with Customers, develops key performance indicators to monitor programs in concert with the client and WuXi Staff. Reports on program status regularly to Senior Leadership at Project Review Board meetings. 


Assigns and Manages workload to Project Management resources. Responsible for the training of staff and Performance Management.

Oversees the Management of Strategic Accounts, including Performance Management through Metric Scorecards, Quarterly Business Reviews, etc. Works with strategic accounts to expand business relationships.

Development and implementation of Project management processes that align with the overall Business Strategy

Provides Project updates to Senior Management through Project Review Meetings and Manages the Process for Forecasting Revenue Projections for Testing based on Project Milestones for Key programs

Manages the processes to keep clients updated in a timely manner regarding progress of project, decision points, and events through teleconferences, e-mails, site visits or other suitable means. 

Oversees the Process to ensure Project Milestones are met and Projects are within Budget

Proactively manages changes in scope through a change control process.

Manages Standard project documentation and Project Management Tools- communication plans, schedules and Gantt charts, project dashboards, sample submission paperwork, meeting minutes, etc.

Leads the orderly progression of projects from the proposal stage through project completion by interacting with the client, operations, technical staff and business development staff. Manages one or more highly complex program that span multiple areas and business functions.

Promotes an environment for continuous improvement with the team and identifies opportunities for improvement

Works with minimal to nosupervision


BA / BS in Biological Sciences, Engineering or relevant field, Advanced Degreepreferred.

PMP Certification preferred but not required

Biologics Testing

Direct Management of a Group that was responsible for delivery of programs / project milestones

Demonstrates the ability to work cross-functionally, with Leadership and Client Management Experience

5 or more years with direct project management experience or equivalent experience.

Experience in Good Manufacturing Practices and/or Good Tissue Practices preferred
