The Opportunity:

We are currently adding a leading role to an agile, multi-disciplinary content team tasked with quickly and efficiently planning, producing and publishing content designed to facilitate positive social media engagement between brands and their guests.

The role of the Associate Director of Social Media is to oversee the strategy and day-to-day operations of our client-facing social content team. This team is responsible for supporting our clients with management of social brand channels, with responsibilities including editorial prioritization, calendaring, copywriting, publishing, and analytics. The associate director takes ownership of the team to ensure the proper execution of these tasks in accordance with client input and feedback, as well as the managing and reporting tointernal and client stakeholders.

Success for this position is measured by the following:

  • Strong comprehension and application of marketing objectives and strategy
  • Understanding of multiple forms of media buying and their implications for the brand’s social mediachannels
  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external partners/teams including clients, outside agencies,  media partners,  agency management, creative, production, analytics, strategy and project management

An ideal candidate will be an established leader with the knowledge and skills to translate a vision for the team into best-in-class social media solutions based on strategic insight that amplify a campaign to deliver on client goals. He/she is a self-starter with the knowledge and energy to provide strategic leadership for clients, partner agencies, execution teams and management to ensure flawless communications and program implementation.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversight of client social media strategic planning and brand channels activation
  • Further the business plan and objectives of the organic social media function
  • Alignment of cross-channel editorial calendars and publishing strategy to overarching campaign objectives
  • Coaching the content team and help them extract relevant information from other teams to ensure that the appropriate priorities are being amplified across brand channels
  • Meeting weekly with clients to ensure editorial planning and approval in a timely manner
  • Analyze ongoing cultural and technological trends in order to apply them toward future content
  • · Working with the analytics team to develop and utilize intuitive, thoughtful, useful performance analysis and metrics
  • Management and support of social mediapublishing and listening tools
  • Regular communication with Planning, Media, Creative and Production departments.
  • Managing all stages of production with internal agency groups
  • Handling all budget projections, updates and analysis


  • Minimum 8-10 years of social media, PR and/or relevant experience with a focus on brand marketing
  • Minimum of 5 years in a management role
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven leadership ability and previous client relationship experience
  • Proficient with computer software/systems: Internet, email applications, MS Office preferred
  • Innate curiosity and aptitude that proactively demonstrate thought leadership
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of digital platforms and social media
  • Full comprehension of strategy development
  • Ability to apply critical thinking and analysis in business writing
  • Ability to use good judgment when making business decisions and performing tasks
  • Excellent organization and time management; ability to prioritize workload and handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and changes in direction
  • Recognizes when to maintain a high level of confidentiality while working on proprietary aspects of the day-to-day business for the Client and Agency
