We have a rare opportunity for an Associate Director, Operations FP&A - Product Cost to be based in East Hartford, CT.

The Product Cost Financial Planning & Analysis team analyzes and reports on manufacturing cost for all of P&W engine and APU programs. This versatile team works closely with many different functions, including the forward-deployed operations finance teams within the supply chain and factories, Commercial, Military and P&W Canada Programs, Engineering, and the Product Cost Management Team.

The Associate Director plays a key role and setting the strategy of the Product Cost team, as well as Operations Product Cost initiatives. This position works very closely with the Operations Strategy, to facilitate targeted cost discussions, while remaining an independent & objective voice on the team. This position will also work very closely with Operations FP&A as a key supplier, but also as a consultant/valuable teammate.

The Associate Director will interact with the following Pratt & Whitney groups: Product Cost Management Team, Operations, Manufacturing Accounting, Engineering, Military Engines, Commercial Engines, P&W Canada, IT, Group FP&A

Key job responsibilities include:

  • Developing and leading a team of 7-10 employees
  • Synthesize large amounts of data into key data points
  • Understanding of P&W SAP cost accounting system
  • Driving and streamlining monthly/weekly reporting processes and accuracy
  • Communicating with and managing expectations of all product cost partners
  • Challenging the status quo, and focusing on productivity/efficiency gains of our finance team
  • Challenge Product Cost team to analyze more, make recommendations and perform what-if analyses
  • The ideal candidate for this position is high-energy, a great teammate, and has a strong financial / analytical background and a positive attitude.
  • Moreover, candidate will drive Product Cost team toward excellence, through recruiting new talent, challenging existing talent and identifying impactful special projects to support the P&W Policy Deployment initiatives related to shareholder value and culture.


Basic Qualifications

  • BS/BA Accounting or Finance
  • 10+ years of experience in an Accounting function

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of Internal Controls, and FP&Aexperiencepreferred
  • Aerospace industry experiencepreferred
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop large teams
  • Ability to synthesize mass amounts of data into actionable morsels and a have a willingness to dive into complex details.
  • A strong work ethic and solid analytical, organization and time management skills
  • Team orientated, possess strong communication skills and be able to interact across all levels of the organization
  • High-energy self-starter
  • Experience with some or all of the following systems: SAP, Business Warehouse, Microsoft Office Products
  • Self-starter who takes ownership of assigned projects and initiatives
  • Demonstrated ability to manage assignments under tight deadlines and rapidly changing priorities
  • Experience in ACE or Lean Principles preferred; need to focus on process efficiencies and improvements


Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance required.
Advanced degrees are a plus
