Summary

  • To provide an expert pharmaceutical technical resource that supports the Business Development team in winning New Clients and New Proposals, with particular emphasis on Patheon’s Pharmaceutical Development Services (PDS) offering in Greenville, NC.
  • Provide Clients with technical solutions that assist them in achieving their development and business goals.
  • Translate technical solutions into proposals and manage Patheon’s internal processes to ensure alignment between the expectations of Clients, Business Development and PDS Operations for the technical scope of proposals.
  • Provide PDS operations with trouble-shooting technical support on existing projects to facilitate positive outcomes and maintain the Client relationship.
  • Co-ordinate and host potential and existing client meetings at the Greenville, NC site.
  • In conjunction and/or consultation with Business Development, travel for face to face meetings with potential and existing Clients at Client sites.
  • Provide Patheon’s Marketing and Sales Operations groups expert technical support as required.
  • Provide Patheon’s Business Strategy group with expert technical support as required.
  • Contribute to Strategic Projects as required.
  • Manage and develop internal relationships within Patheon including Business Development, PDS Operations, Project Management, PDS Quotes, Commercial Operations, Business Management and Commercial Quotes.

Key Requirements

New Business Development

  • Assist Business Development Executives / Sales in advancing new business opportunities towards a successful outcome by providing in-depth technical knowledge and support on Patheon’s development and commercial manufacturing capabilities at Greenville, NC
  • Co-ordinate and host potential and existing client meetings at the Greenville, NC site.
  • In conjunction / consultation with Business Development Executives, participating in Client meetings concerning potential new projects both at Client sites.
  • Provide technical solutions and options that assist Clients in achieving their development and business goals, whilst respecting their budgetary, material availability and timeline constraints.
  • Assisting Business Development Executives with the generation and presentation of Patheon Greenville’s PDS value proposition to specific clients.  
  • Supporting the promoting Patheon’s services through active participation in pharmaceutical and biotechnology seminars, trade shows and exhibitions.
  • In conjunction with Business Development Executives and PDS Operations, identifying and liaising with the Client’s technical decision-makers and influencers.
  • Support new Marketing initiatives by providing expert technical advice as required.
  • Support and participate kick-off meetings to facilitate the Patheon PDS team’s understanding of the client’s needs.

 Relationship Management

  • understanding the client’s organization, development, commercialization model and overall business needs.
  • Provide trouble-shooting support the PDS Operations for existing projects in order to achieve a successful or improved outcome that maintains Client satisfaction and facilitates future new business opportunities.
  • Where there is the opportunity to discuss new projects or where there are issues that may impair future business opportunities, supporting Business Development, Project Management or Business Management in periodic business review meetings with Clients.

Quotations and Agreements

  • Timely and effective communication of information and new project requirements to enable evaluation and generation of PDS and Commercial proposals by the Quotes groups.
  • Assisting PDS Quotes with the assessment of Requests for Proposals for the Greenville NC site.
  • Ensuring that the technical scope of proposals and the hours allocated to perform these activities are aligned with Client expectations whilst:
    • Achieving a consensus with Operations on the technical scope, work centres, equipment requirements and hours to ensure that project execution and eventual pricing will remain consistent with what is proposed to the client.
    • Remaining conscious of Patheon’s technical constraints and business needs.
  • Assisting Business Development in reviewing, understanding and presenting proposals to clients.

 Business Strategy

  • Provide Business Strategy with expert technical knowledge and leadership for new business / technology acquisition opportunities and initiatives.

 Administrative

  • Adhere to the performance metrics provided by the Senior Director, PDS Operations, Greenville, NC

Qualifications

  • A high level of technical expertise in the areas of pharmaceutical formulation and process development.
  • Minimum BSc in a relevant scientific discipline
  • Minimum 15years of pharmaceutical development experience.
  • Dynamic and highly self-motivated individual.
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
