The SEO Law Fellowship Program offers scholarships, academic preparation, career development training and internship opportunities to talented, underrepresented incoming law students. Fellows spend two weeks in New York City receiving hands-on training from legal practitioners and academic instruction from law school professors, before embarking on an 8- week paid internship at a top corporate law firm - all before starting law school. POSITION OVERVIEW & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Associate Director, Programs & Events of the SEO Law Program is responsible for supporting the Director of Law Program in the planning, coordination, and execution of events sponsored by the Law Fellowship Program as well as supporting the program’s academic and career development support of Fellows. In addition, the Associate Director, Programs & Events is responsible for promoting the development and implementation of new program initiatives, in conjunction with SEO partner law firms, aimed at increasing diversity in the hiring and retention of underrepresented attorneys.
- Assist Director of Law Program in the planning and implementation of approximately 20+ core programmatic events for 120+ SEO Law Program cohort, including supervising all logistics for orientation and training for 50+ interns that are not based in New York
- Research, source, and coordinate with vendors about prospective spaces/venues in preparation of all Fellowship, Catalyst, and alumni events, including with respect to online platforms for virtual programming
- Ongoing liaison with key stakeholders, including partner law firms, instructors, coaches, and program participants, regarding logistics for all preparation of training programs
- Assist Director of Law Program in managing review, interview, and evaluation process of approximately 1,500+ applicants (including supervising collection and review of data/analytics)
- Assist Director of Law Program in developing academic & professional development curriculum for Fellowship, Catalyst, and first-year tutoring programs
- Supervise SEO Law career coaches and create and administer guidelines for coaching support
- Serve as liaison to internal HR team to onboard coaches and instructors
- Development of alumni programming for the law program to foster their professional growth and their connection to SEO
- Develop key relationships with law schools, alumni and SEO law alumni for event promotion
- Serves as an SEO Law representative to applicants, fellows, staff, and partner firms.
- Manages special projects and handles adhoc administrative tasks as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited 4-year institution
- Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school
- 4+ year experience in corporate law firm environment
- Must possess programmatic experience, strong interpersonal, public speaking, oral and written communication skills, strong attention to detail, strong organization skills, ability to juggle various projects simultaneously, and proven leadership
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven ability to build relationships and influence key partners
- Successful track record of developing new programs
- Experience with managing direct reports
- Experience using Blackboard, Airtable, Zoom, ConstantContact, SurveyMonkey, SurveyMonkey Apply, Asana, Monday.com, and EZTexting platforms
- Occasional travel is required, dependent on program needs
