Pratt and Whitney has a rare opportunity for an Associate Director - Indirect Procurement & Customer Management. You will report into the Director of Indirect Supply Chain and will be based in East Hartford, CT.

The Associate Director -Indirect Procurement & Customer Management roleis both exciting & challenging. This position will not only be a focal point for leaders across Pratt & Whitney, but will also engage collaboratively with Indirect Supply Chain leaders, category managers, and procurement professionals across United Technologies Corporation (UTC).

UTC is the parent company of Pratt & Whitney and also consists of United Technologies Aerospace Systems (UTAS), Climate, Controls & Security (CCS), and Otis.

You will lead the team responsible for procuring Indirect goods and services, ranging from outsourced engineering support to production consumables, worth billions of dollars annually, that meet customer needs, and provide the best value to Pratt & Whitney and the requiredfinancial returns to the shareholders. You will also work closely with the Associate Director of Indirect Strategic Sourcing to develop & execute strategies to lower costs in all Indirect categories across P&W sites globally.


There will be 10% travel associated with this role.

Job Responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring compliance with ethics and procurement policies and procedures.
  • Executing sourcing and procurement strategies - Ensuring proposals, contract terms and conditions, statements of work, etc., align and support sourcing strategies, before approving purchase orders.
  • Driving continuous improvement of procurement processes - Providing support and mentorship to procurement professionals responsible for PO placement, negotiations, and day-to-day customer support.
  • Developing and maintaining good working relationships with customers and suppliers. Managing the escalation process for customer and supplier issues.
  • Participating in supplier negotiations - Measuring Key Performance Indicators to ensure continued progress toward achieving annual goals.
  • Improving our connectivity with remote sites to ensure consistency in procedures, talent development, and contracting for Indirect goods and services.


Qualification:


Required Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in manufacturing or business or operations.
  • Minimum 2 years experience supervising people required.

Preferred Experience:

  • A Degree in Supply Chain and/or an MBA are strongly preferred.
  • Supply Chain experience in the manufacturing industry higly preferred.
  • Knowledge of SAP ERP systems and of U.S. government procurement policies.
