Otis is seeking an Associate Director, Global Server Engineering, to lead the design, installation, testing and maintenance of the company's global fleet of Windows- and Linux-based infrastructure. The successful candidate will work with internal Digital Technology customers, as well as external partners and Subject Matter Experts, to coordinate projects and deliverables associated with the "Otis Spin" and infrastructure transformation programs. The role includes serving as a technical lead supporting the Otis "cloud first" strategy and participating in processes to rationalize legacy applications, migrate heritage applications to the cloud or new data centers, and/or eliminate legacy applications and infrastructure.

  • Essential Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership in all aspects of Otis' server infrastructure
  • Convert architecture designs to real, working infrastructure
  • Provide advanced technical configuration services for new infrastructure
  • Develop and maintain server hardware and operating software standards to balance cost, currency and technical quality
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting expertise to the global infrastructure platform
  • Monitor, report and remediate global infrastructure vulnerabilities and critical patching
  • Assess and advise on matters of application rationalization, capacity planning, hosting and lifecycle planning.
  • Education/Certifications
  • A bachelor's degree in computer science or related field is required
  • Basic Qualifications
  • Ten-plus years of experience in building and managing large-enterprise server fleets (Windows and Linux)
  • Five-plus years of experience implementing and managing Microsoft Azure IaaS, PaaS and SaaS environments
  • Experience migrating on prem infrastructure to the cloud
  • Expert knowledge of VMware and Microsoft HyperV platforms
  • Working knowledge of infrastructure monitoring and management tools, including but not limited to Dell ARS, SCCM and ManageEngine
  • Expertise in system design, capacity planning and rationalization
  • Ability to work on multiple, high-level projects simultaneously and adhere to strict deadlines and deliverables
  • Exemplary communication and documentation skills, including direct, one-on-one contact with customers and peer groups
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience providing technical leadership in a global company is preferred
  • Experience managing multiple suppliers and partners in an outsourced environment is preferred
