Join bluebird bio's enthusiastic and collaborative team and contribute to the overall success of our novel gene therapy approaches. The focus of this position is to provide leadership and support for our gene editing department within research. The team's activities include refining our megaTAL protein engineering and genomics platforms, and implementing gene editing from target discovery to candidate nomination across our ex-vivo (hematopoietic stem cells and CAR/TCR T cells) and in vivo (liver directed) therapeutic portfolio.
In this role you will manage several existing teams to execute against long term goals, provide both scientific and leadership mentoring, represent the team cross-functionally, and work with the head of genome editing on strategy.
