The Associate Director, Foreign Exchange Sales will take on an assigned portfolio of Corporate and Commercial Banking clients and will be responsible for developing, maintaining and growing these relationships with the objective of maximizing foreign exchange sales opportunities.

The Role-Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will:

  • Distribute a diverse range of foreign exchange products, including FX Options, to established Corporate and Commercial Banking clients with a focus on the Energy industry
  • Build on existing relationships, by developing a deep understanding of client’s business model and FX risks
  • Provide innovative ideas, timely market information, pricing and exceptional service
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with FX sales, trading and strategy team members
  • Cultivate new client relationships by working closely with internal partners, including Corporate, Investment and Commercial Banking, along with other product groups
  • Solid understanding of the banking regulatory environment
  • Cross sell the Bank’s wholesale banking services to deepen existing relationships and cultivate new ones
  • Protect the Bank from loss and/or exposure to unnecessary risks through strict compliance with applicable acts, policies and regulations as applicable

Candidate Profile:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in foreign exchange sales or capital markets/treasury  
  • Proven record of client relationship management skills
  • Very strong business development and marketing skills – experience with the Energy industry preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of FX hedging strategies including experience structuring currency options
  • Experience with FX related systems including: Bloomberg, 360T, FXall, Wallstreet and Murex
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills. Comfortable speaking in front of an audience and explaining complex ideas
  • Strong team player able to collaborate with internal groups in achieving cross sell objectives and franchise growth
  • Excellent PC skills with strong working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and data analysis in particular
  • Familiarity with hedge accounting would be an asset


  • Undergraduatedegree in relevant field
  • MBA and/or CFA designation (or working towards) would be an asset
