The Global Advertising and Brand Management (GABM) organization has a mission to create marketplace demand and drive commerce for American Express through differentiated and innovative products, partnerships, marketing, and customer experiences.

OnBrand, the American Express in-house creative agency, has the ambition to become the internal creative partner of choice by building seamless customer experiences for our Business Units, driving results, and unlocking value for the enterprise. Powered by industry-leading creative, we are focused on developing forward-thinking ideas and working across channels to create end-to-end experiences in digital and beyond.

The Associate Creative Director-Card Design will report to the Design Director and will be a key member of the experience design team, responsible for leading the design management across high-priority American Express initiatives to deliver best-in-class creative and on brand marketing communications.

Responsibilities:

  • Expertly collaborate with internal business marketing partners and inter-agency team to understand end-consumer needs and holistic customer journey.
  • Lead, develop and own design and creative oversight for high-priority American Express initiatives across mediums, leading a working team of designers and creative specialists.
  • Design integrated, break-through creative work across channels.
  • Oversee execution of all design initiatives across formats and deliverables for Card design
  • You are an expert and love all things package design, branding/VI and brand identity.
  • Collaborate with production teams throughout the creative process to ensure seamless delivery of digital assets.
  • Support business unit-dedicated Creative Directors with the development of concepts, strategies, and client presentations.
  • Manage, mentor, and lead all design resources within team.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of design experience at a leading creative agency or in-house brand.
  • 2+ years of experience directly managing a team, leading creative oversight for complex marketing campaigns.
  • Award-winning portfolio that includes holistic campaign creation and implementation across digital, traditional, and experiential mediums.
  • Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch. Proficiency with motion-based programs including After Effects and Cinema4D strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated digital platform expertise, including experience designing for and innovating within content management systems.
  • Proven ability to inspire, mentor, and lead creative team members.
  • Ability to work with a Project Management tool (e.g., Workfront)

Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $155,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits

The above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we'll consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors.
