The School of Nursing is part of a state-of-the-art and research intensive Medical Center and University. The School has outstanding research resources and support, including seed funds for pilot work. Assistance is available to relocate an established program of research to the University of Rochester.
The School of Nursing is seeking tenure-track faculty (associate and full professors) representing diverse backgrounds for positions in several focal areas of research excellence. These faculty members will focus on conducting research, teaching and mentoring, and contributing to the leadership of the School.
Senior faculty (associate and full professors) are expected to maintain a focused program of research by successfully securing extramural funding, leading collaborative inter-professional research teams, and engaging in ongoing scholarship as evidenced by presentation and publication of research findings. The senior faculty will mentor early-career faculty, post-doctoral fellows, and pre-doctoral students and teach in relevant academic programs. All faculty members are expected to participate in and provide leadership in professional/college/university organizations.
The candidate must hold an earned research doctorate in nursing or related field, and hold or have held a faculty appointment at the rank for which they are applying. Candidates must have a record of extramural funding, publications, presentations, mentoring, and teaching as a fulltime faculty member.
The candidate for this position is a nationally recognized investigator who has an established program of research in one of the School’s focal areas. The successful candidate is tenure-eligible and has a track record of external funding at the NIH R01 level or equivalent and a progressive record of first/senior-authored and co-authored publications in top-tier journals. A high level of expertise in research methodologies, techniques, and analytic software in the candidate’s area of focus and solid understanding of a wide range of research methods are expected. The successful candidate will demonstrate commitment to being a collaborative team member in the School of Nursing, supporting the mission of the School, and working in a collegial manner with health care professionals and researchers across disciplines.
