The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Connecticut Health Center, located in Farmington, is recruiting for a new position as Division Chief of Geriatric Psychiatry and Behavioral Health at the Associate Professor or Professor rank. With the recruitment of several geriatric psychiatrists and neuropsychologists in the Department of Psychiatry over the past six years, we are excited to establish this new division.
The position can be In-Residence or tenure track depending on candidate qualifications and background. We are searching for an experienced geriatric psychiatrist with a track record of independent grant support in geriatric mental health and/or leadership in clinical care and education. The position requires a license to practice psychiatry in the State of Connecticut and board eligibility in General and Geriatric Psychiatry. The successful candidate will lead our growing Geriatric Psychiatry, Neuropsychology and Psychology faculty and will contribute to the Research, Clinical and Education missions of the Department.
This is an exciting time to be at the University of Connecticut and in this Department of Psychiatry. The Department has undergone considerable transformation over the past seven years, retaining its considerable strength in Addictions while building expertise in Psychopharmacology, Trauma, Psychiatric Genetics, and Geriatric Psychiatry. The new Division of Geriatric Psychiatry and Behavioral Health will include a substantial grant portfolio and a cadre of dedicated clinical geriatric psychiatrists and neuropsychologists, and it hosts a geriatric fellowship training program and a postdoctoral neuropsychology fellowship.
