The Field Service team is part of the Field Strategic Services division. One of the primary goals of the Field Service team is to ensure that our service professionals become ambassadors of Morgan Stanley. The Field Service team champions the service pillar of the Modern Wealth Management strategy by elevating the client experience. And, the team is largely successful because of the incredible partnerships leveraged across the Firm, the talented team members as well as a sharp focus on execution. Functions within the Field Service team include talent management, business management, real estate, risk and control, learning and development partnerships, communications partnerships, field liaison and feedback along with coverage of products and platforms.

This Assistant Vice President position will report to the Head of Risk and Control for the Field Service team and work closely with Regional Leadership Teams, Legal, Compliance, WM Risk, Field Operational Risk, Fraud Operations other business partners including, but not limited to, the broader Field Strategic Services organization. This role will focus on all aspects of the risk and control liaison functions for the service organization such as communications to Regional Leadership regarding the Risk and Control Self-Assessment results, progress and communications relating to firm-wide remediations, reassessing policies and procedures periodically with various business units, reviewing and reinforcing audit trends and best practices as well as performing administrative reporting functions.

Responsibilities:

• Partner closely with Regional Leadership Teams, Legal, Compliance, WM Risk, Field Operational Risk, Fraud Operations other business partners including, but not limited to, the broader Field Strategic Services organization

• Maintain a strong connectivity to the Regional Control Analysts

• Participate in the reviews and sharing insights regarding firm-wide risk and fraud reporting

• Executing against communications and training to Regional Leadership regarding the Risk and Control Self-Assessment results

• Providing progress updates and communications relating to firm-wide remediations

• Periodically reviewing policies and procedures with various business units

• Reviewing and reinforcing audit trends and best practices

• Provide research and/or guidance following high profile fraud incidents

• Performing select administrative reporting functions for risk and control items

• Assist with various management support functions including presentation preparation

• Provide inputs into project reporting templates to create transparency for senior leadership

Qualifications

• BA or BS preferred, but not required

• Risk experience preferred, but not required

• Some travel may be required

• Financial Services experience

• Ability to develop strong relationships

• Highly motivated with a strong work ethic and a will to succeed

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in both business and technical contexts

• Strong analytical, process-oriented, problem-solving/issues-resolution skills

• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and excellent follow up skills

• Be self-motivated and able to work in a strong team and high activity environment where the sharing of ideas and talents is encouraged and welcomed

• Ability to work independently in a multi-tasking, deadline-driven environment

• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
