The Assistant Superintendent is an individual who has a desire to manage a portion of the actual building process. You possess the competence and have demonstrated to others your commitment to makes the steps necessary in order to advance your skills to become a superintendent.


  • Provides estimating support as requested
  • Assists with projecting staffing for key field positions
  • As directed, attends and participates in pre-job planning meetings
  • Assists with the Identification of Site Staffing and Equipment Utilization
  • Assists with the Development of Critical Milestones Schedules
  • As directed, participates in monthly Project Site Reviews
  • Provides training to foreman for promotion to Assistant Superintendents
  • Helps develop Jobsite Productivity programs and procedures
  • Serves as liaison between field and office staff
  • Serves as the on-site Lydig supervisor when the Superintendent is unavailable
  • Keeps supervisors aware of field concerns
  • Provides input to supervisor for inclusion in the monthly activity report to the Management Team
  • Provides a mentoring relationship for staff
  • Performs all other duties as assigned



  • Journeyman Level Carpenter status and/or Degree in Construction Management
  • 6+ years of Construction field and/or office experience preferred


  • OSHA 10 Training
  • CESL Training Certification
  • Rigging Certification


  • Must be able to establish rapport and maintain effective management of staff
  • Excellent customer service / relationship building skills
  • Ability to review submittals and shop drawings
  • Ability to operate a computer and other standard office machines, including the operation of Outlook, Word, Excel and basic scheduling software

Physical Abilities

  • Must be able to visit various job sites including active construction sites
  • Must be able to climb ladders and stand for several hours at a time
  • Vision must be adequate to evaluate working conditions and read documents
  • Must be able to conduct training sessions in varied environments.

Other Requirements

  • Must have a current driver’s license and an acceptable driving record as defined by our insurance company and vehicle policy
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment checks including: Drug Screen, Criminal Background and Credit check
