Position Summary/Purpose of Position:The College of Information Studies (Maryland’s iSchool) invites applications for an open rank tenure-track position (with preference for Assistant or Associate level) with a focus on cognitive security and information attacks, defenses, and resilience. Ideal applicants will bring both technical and social expertise to address how actors employ misinformation and disinformation online, the impact on trust in information and institutions, and systems-based solutions to these human-cybersecurity challenges. Example approaches could include securing information supply chains; building tools to detect and disrupt malicious online behavior; or identifying human or organizational vulnerabilities to influence campaigns and building sociotechnical countermeasures.
