The Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) in conjunction with Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin (CHW) is recruiting to hire a pediatric neuromuscular faculty position to expand the current program. This is part of a major institutional commitment to the expansion of the Pediatric Neuroscience Center.
The position would be joining the current providers in a program which includes a Muscular Dystrophy Association sponsored clinic which is also a PPMD-certified Duchenne’s Care Center, an inpatient neuromuscular consult daytime consult service, hypotonia clinic as well as growing clinical and basic science research program.
This team member will care for children both at the main CHW campus location as well as the regional clinic site(s). CHW is one of the largest free standing children's hospitals in the United States. The quality of living, school systems and compensation programs are all attractive.
Patient Care: You will be joining an active practice in the areas of Neuromuscular at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. This will include six half-day clinics per week including EMG/NCS testing. There is the option to participate in EMG/NCS based IOM testing for peripheral nerve surgeries. A rotating coverage schedule for daytime neuromuscular inpatients on a consultative only basis is also required. Patient care includes but is not limited to performing appropriate procedures both with and without the participation of residents under your supervision.
Administration/Service/Research: Participation in clinical or basic science research will be required but is flexible based upon experience and your desires. You will be expected to participate, to the extent that you may be called upon, in other administrative and/or service functions of the department or Hospital, Department or College Committees.
Board certified/eligible in Neurology with a special certificate in child neurology although exceptional other certifications may be considered with neuromuscular background. Preference for neuromuscular training or EMG/NCS experience or training is desired but consideration for neurogenetics training will also be considered.
