The Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a medical physicist to fill an academic faculty position within the Division of Medical Physics and Engineering. Appointment is expected to be at the rank of Assistant professor on the clinician educator track; however, appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience. Applicants must have a Ph.D. Degree in medical physics or related field and clinical medical physics residency training from a CAMPEP accredited program.
Eligibility for a Texas Medical Physics license is required. Excellent track record of research activities in the field of medical physics is required, along with ABR certification or eligibility. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal and communication skills, showing solid clinical training with great research potential. The individual will participate in the teaching of graduate students and postdoctoral fellows, as well as residents in medical physics and radiation oncology. Personal attributes such as initiative, problem-solving, and teamwork are highly valued.
