ROLE of the POSITION

The predominant role of general manager is to oversee and manage operations, financial resources, physical assets, staff and student personnel, projects, schedules, and formatting for KUNV Radio. In addition, the general manager will help lead and direct the Rebel Media Group, which includes KUNV-FM, HD2 and HD3, UNLV TV, and the Strategic Social Media Agency. The general manager establishes a vision for KUNV and the Rebel Media Group and promotes that vision on campus and in the community. The role also includes preserving and renewing KUNV's broadcast license; overseeing KUNV's fundraising endeavors (pledge drives); building relationships with key stakeholders; overseeing staff, volunteers and as-needed contract employees; working with the marketing team, helping to develop and teach audio curriculum, and overseeing daily operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires a Bachelor's Degree in journalism, media, communication or a related field from a regionally accredited college or university and 5-10 years of media industry experience, particularly in radio and television. Master's degree and management experiencepreferred.

SALARY RANGE

Salary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions. Position is contingent upon funding.
