The Department of Medicine/Division of Nephrology, Joe R. & Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine at UT Health San Antonio, is seeking Nephrologist at the Assistant Professor/Clinical or Associate Professor/Clinical level on the Clinician/Educator track. The Division is looking for innovative ways to provide superior renal care and improve teaching strategies. This position offers the opportunity to design your career as a Clinician/Educator, attend on multiple clinical services, develop new initiatives and teach medical students, Internal Medicine residents and Nephrology Fellows. We are one of only five NIH-funded Kidney Precision Medicine Tissue interrogation sites in the country. In addition to excelling in clinical practice and education, we aim to build on our existing strengths in diabetes, acute kidney injury, aging, cardio-renal disease, fibrosis, and genetic basis of kidney disease to become national leaders in basic, translational, and clinical Nephrology research.
Candidates for the position must hold a Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) or foreign equivalent degree, have completed an Internal Medicine residency and a Nephrology fellowship. Candidates must possess or be able to obtain a Texas Medical License, be board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine and board certified or eligible in Nephrology. Those who wish to be considered for Associate Professor Rank must have extensive clinical experience.
