Responsibilities of this position include:

  • Analyzing, planning and directing the work activities of the Accounts Payable (AP) team.
  • Overseeing the work and daily supervision of the AP staff.
  • Establishing / communicating / monitoring departmental goals and priorities.
  • Ensuring / monitoring compliance with AP best practices and industry controls.
  • Reducing the cost of providing effective AP payment services while maintaining effective controls.
  • Monitoring departmental productivity and compliance with established controls.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective vendor maintenance practices.
  • Leading annual 1099 reporting activities including: analysis of payment activity, preparation /audit of 1099 forms, distribution of forms to vendors, and electronic filing of forms to the IRS and City of Philadelphia.
  • Establishing / utilizing department metrics & statistics to initiate process improvement.
  • Supporting change within and becoming an effective partner with other areas of the Network supply chain organization to promote process change.
  • Partnering with internal Network departments to promote compliance / best practices as it pertains to all supply chain activity.

  • Must be comfortable with new technology and the implementation of it.
  • Experience with EDI, ACH, and imaging systems preferred.
  • 5-7 years of cycle AP experience required.
  • Lawson experience preferred.
  • Problem resolution/Analytical skills required.
  • Customer service approach - inside and outside the organization required.
  • Knowledge of AP best practices and internal controls required.
  • BS Degree in Accounting or business related field required.
