About this Position

The Marketing Advisory team in Primerica's Office of General Counsel seeks a junior attorney to provide principal review and approval of broker-dealer and investment advisor marketing collateral that is based upon Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and State Securities and Insurance laws, rules and regulations.Responsibilities & Qualifications

This junior attorney role keeps current on industry developments that affect marketing content, sales material and public communications. In addition, the position will advise internal clients of changes in applicable rules and regulations and their effect on all traditional and electronic/digital written communications. The position will also review and revise public-facing marketing content and internal training materials to ensure compliance with various laws and industry standards, including Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and state rules on Unfair and Deceptive Acts and Practices (UDAAP) and will also handle miscellaneous projects as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:

  • 3 -5 years of experience, preferably in an Advertising/Sales material reviewer role with a Financial Services company that includes an affiliated broker/dealer (for directly relevant experience, applicants with less than 3 years of experience will be considered)
  • Juris Doctorate Degree and member of any state bar association
  • Spanish fluency in all communication areas preferred (but not required)
  • SIE required (provided an exemption or grandfathering cannot be applied)
  • FINRA Series 7 and Series 24 OR Series 6 and 26 (or willingness to obtain the 24 or 26 within 90 days of hire through a learning agreement)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of FINRA (Rule 2210), SEC and state securities, insurance department rules and regulations
  • Foundational knowledge of variable annuity, variable life, and mutual fund products
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Microsoft Excel, and FINRA's Advertising Regulation Electronic Filing (AREF) System
  • Well-organized and highly efficient, possessing excellent verbal and written communications skills and the ability to interact and communicate effectively with management level personnel and regulatory agencies
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well independently and under pressure
