ROLE of the POSITION
The Assistant Director of Problem-Based Leaning (PBL) supports the Director of Case-Based Learning with the execution of first- and second-year students' problem-based learning component of the basic science curriculum. The Assistant Director assists in the development of cases driven by learning objectives of the integrated organ-based system courses; participates in core teaching of PBL faculty, assists in the evaluation of pre-clinical students; provides continuous PBL faculty training; and assists in the overall development and ongoing improvement processesassociated with case writing and faculty development. This position will report to the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs and Education, and works closely with the Director of Case-Based Leaning, and other faculty and community physicians who participate in problem-based learning sessions.
This position requires a license as a Doctor of Medicine (MD) from a regionally accredited college or university and 2-5 years related experience. Experience with Problem-Based Learning (PBL) is required.
Salary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions. Position is contingent upon funding.
