Responsibilities :

  • Leads part of the Organizational Development team in our matrixed structure, providing operational and strategic direction to staff
  • Oversees strategies and goals for the Texas Children’s system regarding organizational effectiveness, employee engagement, leadership coaching, change management, and organizational design
  • Serves as expert on high level issues and ensures systems and processes directly align to and support organizational goals and priorities
  • Manages the governance and operations of the Learning Management System (HealthStream) to ensure the system provides access to employees and providers for required and elective learning
  • Manages team members and team activities by helping to establish guidelines for individual and team performance to ensure desired outcomes and to meet department and organization goals
  • Maintains responsibility for completion of work within the team and holds team members accountable regarding accomplishing job responsibilities
  • Measures customer satisfaction and provides other metrics to benchmark and analyze team performance
  • Provides performance coaching, development, work guidance, and appraisal of team member performance
  • Works with team members to enhance strengths and to overcome potential limitations
  • Ensures staff are qualified, motivated, and challenged
  • Ensures a high performing, mutually supporting, customer-focused team culture that is fully accountable to the organization for services & support delivered
  • Works extensively with senior management on Organizational Effectiveness, Employee Engagement, Change Management, and Organizational Design
  • Promotes Organizational Development programs and initiatives with senior leaders across the system
  • Develops positive working relationships with other HR leaders to ensure alignment of goals and objectives, coordination of services, and effective teamwork
  • Ensures alignment of Organizational Effectiveness, Employee Engagement, Change Management, and Organizational Design activities to other organizational functions and systems (Leadership Success Profiles, Performance Management system, Diversity, Leadership Development, and Recruitment)
  • Develops strategies to move the function from being a source of processes to actively engaging with HR counterparts and line clients to improve the status of our talent pipeline, specific focus on improving bench strength for leadership/critical positions



Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Administration, Business Administration, or related discipline is required
  • Master’s degree in OD/IO Psychology is preferred
  • Seven (7) years of organizational development experience with three (3) years of organizational development management/supervisory experience is required
  • Broad knowledge of Organizational Development and Human Resources practices and procedures, knowledge gained from a strong background in human resource development, employee engagement, and organizational development
  • Knowledge of hospital operations and physician leadership development is helpful
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with multiple priorities
  • Ability to effectively coach all levels of leadership within the organization, work collaboratively, be solution-oriented and operate with flexibility and adaptability
  • Ability to Use effective verbal, written and interpersonal communications, demonstrate a strategic perspective, problem-solve and analyze, maintain confidential information, and operate word processing and PowerPoint programs on a personal computer
