Job Description:

The Brown University Division of Advancement seeks qualified applicants for the position of Assistant Director for CRM and Data Services.

Reporting to the Associate Director of Advancement Reporting, the Assistant Director is responsible for managing the Business Analysis team, identifying and delivering process and systems improvements, delivering adhoc data requests, responsible for increased utilization of BBCRM adoption through the leverage of native functionality and deriving business requirements and quality assurance for AIS project initiatives. This role will lead the evaluation of technology requests, lead the requirement definition, delivery of solutions within BBCRM and be responsible for the development and execution of testing and validation across CRM, reports or technology projects. This role will also manage a training strategy for our fundraising platform for the Advancement division (annual giving, major gift, planned giving, corporate and foundation giving, prospect management, special events, engagement, and stewardship teams). The Associate Director will work closely with the AIS leadership and other colleagues to sustain a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum of 5-7 years project management, SDLC methodology execution, providing support of CRM software platforms and providing reporting support
  • Familiarity with SDLC methodologies including requirements, design, implementation, test planning and User Acceptance testing
  • Strong aptitude for diagnosing end user problems, identifying and implementing solutions
  • Programming in SQL or similar query language
  • Demonstrated experience with developing and implementing reports using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) (or other BI tools) preferred.
  • Proven ability to build, manage and foster a team-oriented environment
  • Understanding of standard IT policies and procedures, including usage of test environments and change procedures
  • Excel at uncovering hidden trends in a volume of data
  • Excellent prioritization, time management/multi-tasking skills, and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of higher education or other non-profit fundraising principles preferred
