Description

Perform daily and monthly duties in general accounting, financialreporting, & compliance and assist with finance & accounting operations.

 

*** Oversee preparation of reinsurance reports and remittances, tracking outstanding receivables, and any related reinsurance accounting.

 

*** Support financial & capital planning and analysis functions including creation of budgets, forecasts, results analyses, and similar.

 

*** Promote accurate and timely recording of data in accounting system and safeguard operations by ensuring financial filing compliance requirements are met in each state.

 

*** Assist with monthly close process for both Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and statutory ledgers for multiple entities.

 

*** Prepare and complete annual and quarterly National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) statutory financial statements (Yellow Books).

 

*** Manage premium tax filings and premium related data calls.

 

*** Lead creation and management of bank accounts and assets on deposit.

 

*** Determine deposit requirements for states & lines of business and adjust balances as necessary.

 

*** Address queries from state insurance departments and regulatory authorities.

 

*** Establish and maintain systems and controls to verify integrity of all systems, processes, and data.

 

*** Recruit and train finance employees to support long-term management strategy.

 

*** Serve as subject matter expert related to Insurance Agency and Reinsurance Contracts, General Ledgers, Statutory and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) accounting, Admitted Insurance Company Reporting, Reinsurance Accounting, Bank Reconciliations, Accounts Receivable, Taxes, Banking Operations, and similar.

 

*** Provide technical expertise related to database and accounting computer application systems, TCP (The Complete Package) annual statement software, and similar.

 

*** Maintain CPA certification.
