Assistant Controller at BioFire Diagnostics in Salt Lake City, UT

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

1. Perform all work in compliance with company quality procedures and standards.
2. Manage and review Fixed Asset Accounting sub-ledger (FAS)
3. Manage the lease accounting reporting in KShuttle, COFIS and for tax authorities
4. Ensure personal and real property tax reporting is maintained and submitted on time to the Tax Manager
5. Review and audit (on a sample basis) all AP check runs as assigned
6. Assist Senior Director Accounting with monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities and related close checklist and COFIS reporting
7. Assist with developing quarterly financial statements in SAP report painter which support the COFIS reporting process
8. Prepares prepaid expenses, general accruals, treasury and bank reconciliations, business support, OPEX actual and budget reporting and forecasting
9. Reconcile financial statement accounts as assigned
10. Prepare variance analysis for various accounts
11. Review and prepare journal entries
12. Assist in management of internal and external financial audits and quarterly reviews
13. Assist in the maintenance of the accounting system and General Ledger structure and accounts
14. Assist in the implementation and monitoring of internal control processes
15. Demonstrates good interpersonal skills along with excellent verbal and written communication skills
16. Responsible for training staff and conducting performance reviews
17. Special projects as assigned by the Senior Director Accounting or CFO

Qualifications

Training & Education: Master’s degree in a related field required, CPA Preferred

Experience: Five years accounting experience required. Public accounting experience with public company client preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Experience with SAP desired
• Proficient with Microsoft office suite: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook; and other related business reporting tools
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Effective organization, attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines are essential
• Understanding of general accounting principles
