The Art Director is responsible for the creative that supports the overall regional brand strategy, including point-of-sale collateral, advertising, special events, education materials, social and launches. Will partner with multiple cross-functional teams to ensure that all business objectives are met.

Candidate must be passionate about the fashion and beauty industry, and have the highest level of aesthetic and execution, ensuring that all designs adhere to brand guidelines.

Job Responsibilities

  • Create innovative design concepts for social, point-of-purchase, print, education materials, events and digital while maintaining brand strategy and identity, including story boards for concept and execution.

  • Responsible for maintaining consistency and integrity of the Estee Lauder brand within the North America Region.

  • Drive the development of graphics to support the Specialty-Multi environments (Ulta, Sephora) as part of overall regional brand strategy and growth.

  • Ability to be flexible and react quickly with the growth of the retailers to ensure that the brand is always best-in-class.

  • Ensure the level of excellence in all creative work that is designed and executed is consistent, cohesive and within budget and timeframe. This includes concept, design, supervision of production, and overall project management.

  • Provides forward-thinking creative leadership with strong management skills (1-2 direct reports).

  • Strong time management and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to partner and collaborate with cross-functional partners to deliver strong creative execution to enhance consumer communication and overall retail experience.

  • Take direction from project briefs and pro-actively look for opportunities to improve projects.

  • Ability to manage and art direct regionally produced still life and model photography.

  • Design and concept innovative, locally relevant digital experiences to support brand strategy.

  • Leverage a digital and mobile-first mindset in design, showing awareness of competitive landscape, trends and emerging technologies

  • 8 years related work experience in a creative environment

  • BFA or BA in Design, Graphics or Art Direction

  • Must have experience with photo art direction and excellent typographic and design skills

  • Substantial knowledge of print production including retouching, pre-press, proofing and be proficient in InDesign, PhotoShop and Illustrator. Animation programs (After Effects) a plus

  • Possess a digital and mobile-first mindset

  • Experience with creative integration across all media/sales channels

  • Drive for innovation and disruption within cosmetic industry, luxury mindset a plus

  • Positive attitude, genuine team player with a self-starter and go-getter attitude

  • Excellent written and verbal communications, strong presentation skills, ability to personally organize and set priorities.

  • Capable of handling numerous projects in a fast-paced, high-pressured environment with minimum supervision

  • Commitment to excellence and the highest standards of quality as well as a strong design sensibility
