Facebook is looking for an Art Director that is passionate about imagining and executing high quality work to join the Illustration team, a pillar within Product Foundation supporting the FB App. The role is to lead the Illustration Pillar for Facebook's Visual Systems team, and work with Facebook's Product teams to invent and implement illustration at a high level of excellence - both still and animation.
We are looking for an experienced Art Director to join the team with a background in illustration, animation and product. This includes experience in preparing and executing against creative briefs, and overseeing the entire creation process of digital illustration elements through delivery, while working on multiple, complex work streams with large amounts of cross-functional partners and dependencies. This role requires strong systems thinking and organizational skills, a critical eye for detail, and extensive understanding in overseeing the implementation of illustration systems with accuracy, consistency and at the highest levels of quality of execution and metaphor.
You are comfortable collaborating and providing a creative point of view with designers, and collaborating with illustrators, animators, content strategists, and product designers to grow and evolve work from a design perspective. You should be comfortable working across many digital platforms with multiple teams, and always be curious and eager to experiment.
Additionally, the illustrator must be a clear communicator, a team player, and have a proven ability to inspire and motivate the team to deliver world-class creative work.
