RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Layout, design and manage creative process for collateral marketing materials including direct mail/catalogs, logos, invitations, in store signage, marketing/corporate presentations, packaging and other promotional materials
  • Conceptualize, develop, and execute ad campaigns and seasonal collection launches including research and presentation of concept and location swipe, casting for models, design and sketch of composition, and set design
  • Partners with copy and graphic designers to ensure all creative is aligned and communicate a brand-consistent message
  • Partner closely with Project Manager to assign projects across the graphic design team
  • Assist in layout for all media based on final concept approval, cataloging of images, maintaining complete edited files of all images from photo shoot
  • Stay on top of trends in the design, typography, photography, health and active wear world
  • See concept through to execution by developing final layouts and color, overseeing the retouching process and reviewing all mechanicals
  • Art direct as needed on all photo shoots, working closely with the photographer, stylist, crew, producer and models in proper execution of shoot concept
  • Provide support for layout, design for other marketing materials including lookbooks, elevated pages, editorial content, newsletters, promotions, site assets and print catalog
  • Work with VP, Creative Director on retouching rounds, direct and markup imagery as needed for social and acquisitions assets
  • Produce, optimize, and output final web-ready digital artwork in support of site updates
  • Maintain a keen sense of UX as well as familiarity with back end site functionality and development

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • 4+ years of work experience as an Art Director/Jr Art Director in an agency, studio, production company, fashion brand or retail company
  • Must have strong presentation skills, workflow management and communication skills
  • Must maintain a full understanding of the creative, photographic and digital processes as they relate to photo shoot and video production
  • Candidate should have the ability to think conceptually and design aesthetically, translating creative direction into visual references
  • Must have prior experience with photo shoots
  • Must have expert knowledge of typography and graphic design principles
  • Must thrive in a fast-paced environment and be able to multi-task and prioritize tasks with a quick turnaround time, demonstrating strong workflow management and communication skills as well as proven success collaborating with multi-functional teams
  • Professional attitude; self managed, self motivated, proactive, detail oriented and a team player with a keen sense of urgency
  • Must be proficient on Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop; Sketch is a plus
  • Passion for fashion industry and knowledge of social trends is required
  • Extensive knowledge of best practices for both web and pre-press print execution is a plus; working understanding of both digital and print advertising in all facets and stages of development
  • Online user interface experience, including mobile
  • Must have strong POV and knowledge of creative talent, agencies, fashion brands and other designers
  • Must work collaboratively and constructively on each project with others on the team including Project Managers, Marketing, Merchants, other Creative Team members, etc.
  • Candidate will have a portfolio that demonstrates inventive/imaginativedigitalcampaigns
  • Candidate must possess knowledge of interactive and user-centered experience design
  • Possess flexibility to adapt and thrive in a rapidly evolving, fast paced environment as well as willingness to get the job done
  • Fashion experience is a plus

ADDITIONAL SKILLS:

  • Must be able to manage multiple complex projects on time and on budget
  • Must be diligent with regard to obtaining approvals
  • Should maintain basic knowledge of post production and retouching processes
  • Must have ability to self manage projects and work within established deadlines
  • Should have knowledge of digital post production as well as printing processes
  • Must be team oriented, self motivated, and an exceptional communicator
  • Must have a desire to learn and an extremely strong sense of urgency and responsibility
  • Must be skilled at working in an extremely fast paced environment
  • Fashion advertising background is a big plus as well as marketing experience with in-store, digital/web and consumer facing multi-media

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have a 4 yeardegree in the field of Advertising/Marketing, Arts, Fashion, Design, Photography and/or equivalent professional experience
