The Area Segment Manager (ASM) for Food & Beverage Industry position will be responsible for driving growth, specifications and commercial agreements for Baldor Motors, Dodge Mechanical Power Transmission, and ABB Drives products at Food & Beverage corporate accounts in the local region. Will actively seek opportunities for Robotics and other ABB divisions. The three positions will be located and accessible to the following areas : Chicago, Philadelphia and California regions.
Identify key regional and national Food & Beverage corporations within the defined region providing the greatest growth potential.
Build corporate relationships within procurement, engineering, reliability, and food safety leadership.
Gain/Win product specification and commercial agreements for Baldor Motors, Dodge MPT & ABB Drives at targeted Food & Beverage accounts.
Drive measurable growth at plant locations with local sales teams and distribution.
Work with corporate CapEx engineering & procurement to maximize ABB share of project spending.
Leverage corporate specifications to drive OEM conversion with local sales teams.
Collaborate with ABB/Baldor/Dodge channel partner account leadership to drive share shift.
Drive application wins at specific targeted plants to support key national target accounts.
Communicate important industry Voice of Customer information back to Product Marketing and other key internal stakeholders.
Act a liaison between the Customer, Baldor District Offices, Dodge Field Sales & ABB Drives team
Bachelors’ Degree AND 8 years’ experience in sales, customer service or in the Food and Beverage Industry.
*A Master’s Degree in required field = Credit given for 2 years of work experience.
*A PhD/Doctorate in required field = Credit given for 3 years of work experience
Bachelors’ Degree in Engineering or Business
Proven ability to create new customer relationships, and provide value to those customers.
Ability to create and execute an effective business plan.
Ability to effectively implement agreements through and with field sales teams and channel partners.
Communication skills necessary to make effective customer presentations, as well as communicate effectively across multiple ABB businesses.
Ability to meet the physical demands of industrial plant location visits and application engineering.
Experience working with industrial distribution preferred. Prior experience in the food industry is preferred.
Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
