We are seeking an Area Operations Manager at our Manchester, New Hampshire location: 

Summary of Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the day-to-day activities of 10 branch locations within a defined area.
  • Works with branch managers to establish the budget for the general operations and office activities and strives to maintain costs within that budget.
  • Develops and recommends specific short and long term objectives for the branch operations.
  • Implements business strategies set forth by senior management as well as reviews and implements company and department procedures.
  • Reviews and audits various reports and information such as direct billing edit report, customer credits, customer invoices, and vendor credit listings to ensure accuracy and to verify that appropriate actions are being taken.
  • Oversees facilities maintenance including communicating with landlords when necessary. 
  • Participates in various committees and task forces and participates in improving the business by offering potential alternatives to existing methods.
  • Organizes, oversees and participates in the year-end inventory and assists the branch warehouse manager with management functions, when necessary. May also act as warehouse supervisor in small branches.  
  • Improve OPEX % to sales by managing cost and indirect spend
  • Drive operational efficencies throughout the area and company by sharing best practices
  • Identify and execute solutions to reduce inbound and outbound transportation
  • Work closely with Sourcing to execute on obsolescence and excess improvement and inbound supply chain
  • Lead environmental, health and safety compliance and training
  • Be the gatekeeper for all compliance related items (P Card, T&E, Export) and enforce adherence to all SOP’s
  • Utilize supply chain management tools (Lean, WMS, Velocity Slotting) to continuously improve warehouse operations and customer service
  • Motivate, lead and train branch employees to “manage the gap” on top line & GP to OPEX V%
  • Manage Facilities – leases, CAPEX, disaster recovery, maintenance and relocation
  • Analyze profitability by branch, customer and supplier and impact to GP.  Work to understand and drive process improvement on DRS, POV, and other vendor statement expense
  • Control advanced cycle counting, physical inventory and process
  • Manage fixed and leased assets
