We are seeking a Designer II who brings thoughtful innovation, high standards, and a passion for residential design. Working in close collaboration with principals and the studio team, this individual will contribute meaningfully to the design excellence that defines our work.
Key Responsibilities- Contribute original design ideas and creative problem-solving throughout all phases of residential projects, from early concept through construction
- Support the production of design, construction, and construction administration documents in alignment with firm standards and direction from senior leadership
- Coordinate and communicate with clients, consultants, and contractors to produce detailed architectural documentation
- Research, select, and detail materials that align with design intent and comply with applicable codes and regulations
- Develop schematic designs that demonstrate solutions to the project program and architectural criteria
- Prepares presentation materials that clearly and compellingly communicate design ideas and proposals
- Proactively manage multiple tasks across concurrent projects while meeting established schedules and deadlines
Qualifications- B.Arch or M.Arch from an accredited program
- 6-8 years of professional architectural experience with strong residential design experience
- Professional licensure or active pursuit of licensure preferred
- Strong design instincts with the skill to transform conceptual ideas into thoughtful architectural solutions
- A design-forward mindset, led by curiosity, creativity, and a dedication to high-quality residential work
- Passion for residential design, a growth mindset, and an entrepreneurial approach to contributing to the firm's technical and professional development
- Ability to work independently, proactively manage multiple priorities, and exercise sound judgment
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and collaborative, with strong communication skills.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite (including InDesign and Photoshop)
- Working knowledge of Revit is a plus
- Hand drawing and sketching skills are a plus
- Knowledge of other applicable design and project management programs beneficial
- Strong understanding of construction documentation, wood-frame construction, and residential detailing
- Exposure to or experience with sustainability practices (passive house, LEED, WELL standards) is a plus
$75,000 - $98,000 a year
